A historic cable car that was first started in 1932. It is popular for its old-fashioned classic design. It links Rokko Cable Shita Station and Rokko Sanjo Station with the trip to the observation point at the peak of Mt. Rokko taking about 10 minutes.
Mt. Rokko is famous for its view of the city of Kobe, and off in the distance, the Osaka Plain and Wakayama Prefecture can be seen. Have lunch after reaching Rokko Sanjo Station. There are plenty of restaurants such as the Tenran Café and the Garden Terrace where you can enjoy the grand panorama of Mt. Rokko while you have your meal. After lunch, you can take a walk in places such as the Rokko International Musical Box Museum and the Rokko Alpine Botanical Museum.
Arima Onsen boasts nationwide popularity and it is known as a famous hot spring that has been beloved by the Imperial family and nobility since ancient times. The onsen which has retained its old-fashioned atmosphere can also be recommended for taking a stroll through the town before you take a bath. Then visit the temples and shrines along with Kin-no-Yu where Arima Onsen originated. You can take the ropeway from Mt. Rokko to Arima Onsen near the Rokko Garden Terrace.
