Toyama is located at the coast of Sea of Japan, the prefecture is named Toyama just like the city, it is about 300km away from Tokyo toward the north west. From Tokyo to Toyama it takes about 1 hour by plane or 2 hours by shinkansen (bullet train). The town of Toyama is surrounded by mountains from three sides with a coast. From Toyama, you can find interesting things all year around to see and do, one of these is the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route that on winter has 20 meter of snow around the route. Other amazing sights are the Kurobe Dam which is surrounded by alps and beautiful clean water.
