The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park marks the tragedy that happened in 1945 where Hiroshima was largely destroyed by the atomic bomb. The Atomic Bomb Dome
This building was heavily damaged and exposed to radiation by the first ever used atomic bomb during World War I. The building has been preserved in the state it was immediately after the bombing, and has continued to testify to the horrors of the atomic bomb.

Ichijōdani Asakura Family Historic Ruins
Here you’ll be able to see the remains of the castle town of the clan of Asakura. They controlled this Echizen Province for 103 years. You can see the sights of the Sengoku (Warring States) Era which include the excavated ruins, gardens unchanged from the old days, and the restored townscape.

Hiroshima Castle

Hiroshima Gokoku Shrine
This is a shrine dedicated to the more than 90,000 dead from the war. The symbol of the carp has a deep connection with Hiroshima and can be seen everywhere. During the 3 days of the New Year’s holidays when the Hatsumode (first prayers of the New Year) celebrations take place, 600,000 people visit this shrine, making it the most prominent in the Chugoku area.
