Take a stroll through the townscape of Ouchi-juku with its rows of old residences and its original appearance of an Edo Era post station. Enjoy lunch here as you tour the town since you can taste some of the famous countryside cuisine and light snacks. After lunch, walk up to Takakura Shrine.

Takakura Shrine
Takakura Shrine may be small but it has a mysterious atmosphere. Close to Ouchi-juku, the surrounding area is an untouched rural landscape. After touring the shrine, return to Ouchi-juku and then take a taxi back to Yunokami-Onsen Station.

To return to Aizu-Wakamatsu Station, you can board either the 2:49 or the 4:16 train. If taking the later train, a walk around the station is recommended. The thatch-roofed station is popular with photography enthusiasts and has also been selected as one of the Top 100 Stations in the Tohoku district. The surrounding area is one of tranquil nature and has the feel of a countryside town in which you can enjoy a 1-hour stroll. At the tourist information center in front of the station, maps introducing walking courses are available.
