About

How to enjoy the new Haneda

Haneda Airport used to be mainly used for just catching flights, but the renovated international terminal is now filled with entertainment for children and adults so that its old image of just going there to watch planes has been overturned. As an international hub, routes heading for major US and European cities such as New York and Paris have been increased and added onto Asian routes to places like Shanghai and Seoul so that Haneda has incorporated more facilities for the increasing number of tourists. A variety of new commercial facilities has been built to serve you. The 2nd and 3rd floors among the 5 floors of the airport are for the arrivals and departures lobbies that have been constructed for easy understanding. You will be impressed by the open atmosphere provided by the lobbies with the simple signage, the large domed roof, and the clean and transparent feeling. These are sensations that can only be felt at Haneda.

New commercial facilities that go beyond an airport

There is a day’s worth of fun for families within the recreational facilities at Haneda Airport. In the Edo Koji area on the 4th floor, there are shops selling products and food within an atmosphere that feels as if you have gone back in time to the Edo Era. Along with Japanese dishes that are popular even with foreign tourists such as ramen, udon and sukiyaki, there are plenty of other establishments such as cafés. There are also numerous Japanese souvenirs including tenugui hand towels and Haneda Airport goods. In TOKYO POP TOWN on the 5th floor, there are toy stores and shops dealing in examples of Japanese pop culture such as anime, and even a café incorporating a planetarium. For airplane fans, there is the must-see rooftop observation deck. At night, the deck is covered in 4000 LEDs to create a wondrous world to add to the starry night sky.
