After getting off at Naruko Onsen station, you can consult about trekking routes through Naruko-kyo Gorge and day-trip onsen facilities at the tourist information center within the station. Once you receive your map, please ensure your trekking route. Trek through Naruko-kyo as you take a nature walk which can be enjoyed throughout all four seasons. Aim for a 60-minute walk one way (2 hours round trip returning on the same route) to the Naruko-kyo Rest House where you can get a beautiful view from the observation point. For safety considerations, please put on the appropriate footwear. At the Naruko-kyo Rest House, light meals are available so taking a lunch break here is recommended. *The trail is closed during winter due to snow
Stop off at the Japan Kokeshi Museum on the way from the Naruko-kyo Gorge trail to Naruko Onsen Station. You can view displays and the making of the local Naruko handicraft of kokeshi. You can even try your hand at painting kokeshi. *Closed between January 1st and March 31st
