About

Take a tour of the factory of Shiroi Koibito, the famous sweets of Hokkaido

When it comes to Hokkaido souvenirs, there is Shiroi Koibito (White Lovers), white chocolate sandwiched between two crisp langue de chat cookies. On the iconic blue-and-white packages, there is a picture of Mt. Rishiri on Rishiri Island, and the cookies have become loved by many people as the famous sweets of Hokkaido. At Shiroi Koibito Park, you can go on a tour of the manufacturing facility. Beyond the glass, you can witness the process of the chocolate being sandwiched between the oven-fresh cookies, their cooling and then their packaging on the assembly line. You can also learn more at the theater and also about the history of the source manufacturer, Ishiya Co. Ltd.

Make your own original treats

Couples and families can enjoy creating their own original sweets. At Shiroi Koibito Park, there is the Cookiecraft Studio where you can make your own creations depending on time and budget. There are courses for making heart-shaped Shiroi Koibito cookies with illustrations of your design, and courses for creating them with cookie cutters into shapes like the prefecture of Hokkaido and then painting them. Also, you can tour the factory specializing in sugarcraft which was invented in England, and visit a shop where you can purchase your favorite items.

Still other highlights on other confections

Another feature of the park is the many exhibits related to sweets that are delicious to the eye and stomach. There are displays of chocolate cups, which were used in the 18th century by the nobility to enjoy chocolate as a drink, chocolate packaging from the past, a diorama of the chocolate-making process and other exhibits. At the Chocolate Lounge which is filled with antique furniture, you can also enjoy a variety of desserts other than chocolate such as parfaits and cakes. Satisfy heart and stomach at the sweets theme park where you can enjoy the day with the whole family.

Not just for kids
Anyone can enjoy this place if you like chocolate. You can even see into the factory and watch the staff making the chocolates from above. The factory is designed like Willy wonka. There are also a few cafes where you can enjoy yummy cakes and parfaits. There is also a museum that details the company's history.
