Kabukicho is located on the east side of JR Shinjuku Station and is an area that squeezes in restaurants, movie theaters and other amusement facilities. At night, the area lights up with the gaudy neon signs for cabarets and host clubs and is filled with the atmosphere of an entertainment quarter. Its scale makes it the largest in East Asia and because the neon doesn’t go out until morning, it has come to be called the city that never sleeps.
