Shinmachi Street

The shops constructed from the end of the Edo Era in the 19th century into the Meiji Era created a well-organized area that has been nationally designated as an Important Preservation District of Historic Buildings. The pine trees that soar over the walls of the buildings further enhance this ancient townscape.
