A splendid spot to take in that panoramic view of Mt. Yoshino. During cherry blossom season, the splendid scene of the blossoms all opening at once on the side of the mountain spreads out. It’s a fine place to take a break when having that bento box lunch. However, during cherry blossom season, it’s difficult to relax since there are huge crowds.
Head over to the World Heritage site of Yoshino Mikumari Shrine and tour the buildings with historical traces of Momoyama culture which was known for its splendor.
Walk to another World Heritage site, Kinpu Shrine where a mysterious atmosphere exists of ancient cedar trees and cherry trees. It is known as the site where the local god of Mt. Yoshino is enshrined.
Walk 5 minutes from Kinpu Shrine to the bus stop Okusenbon from where you can take a bus to the cable car station Yoshino-san-Guchi.(Please be careful not to be late since the 15:03 bus is the final bus! *according to the 2016 operating schedule). Buses operate once per hour. Head down the mountain via cable car for Kintetsu Yoshino Station.
