Chikurin-no-Komichi

A bamboo forest lane with the elegant air of a villa that was once used by the nobility a thousand years ago

To the north of Tenryu-ji Temple, Chikurin-no-Komichi extends from Nonomiya Shrine to Ōkōchi Sansō. The bamboo forest that seems to stretch all the way to the sky has a wonderfully cooling landscape that makes visitors forget the heat of a Kyoto summer. It is a well-known scene that symbolizes Arashiyama and Sagano.

Spiritual Place
This bamboo forest is very spiritual place. Here was so quiet and cool though I went here on a really hot day in August. I saw many people wearing kimono here. You can access by trolley or on foot. If you go to Arashiyama area in Kyoto, you can't miss this forest.
