Kamakura Half Day Itinerary (Hokoku-ji, Inamuragasaki)

Day 1

Hokoku-ji Temple
Head for Hokoku-ji Temple which is known for its splendid bamboo forest garden. You can sample matcha tea while admiring the view of the forest. Board the Keihin Kyuko bus (bound for Kamakura Reien Seimon-mae Tachiarai and Kanazawa Hakkei/bound for Highland) at the terminal at the East exit of the station to head for the temple, and then get off at the Jomyoji bus stop (about 15 minutes). Alternately, a taxi can get you there in a little less than 10 minutes. If you have time, you can drop by Jomyo-ji Temple. After the tour, head back to Kamakura Station.

Board the Enoshima Electric Railway, known affectionately as “Enoden” by the locals, and take a ride to Inamuragasaki known for its view from the shore and the beauty of its sunsets (about 11 minutes).

Take a stroll through Kamakura Seaside Park/Inamuragasaki District known for its sunset views. On good weather days, you can see Enoshima Island and Mt. Fuji. It’s recommended for taking a break since there are a number of cafés nearby.
