The symbol of Sapporo to enjoy shopping and dining

Sapporo TV Tower which is located in Odori Park in the center of Sapporo is famous as a tourist spot representing the city. At a height of 147.2 meters, it is easy to see and access once you walk upon Odori Avenue so that it is visited by many tourists. During events such as New Year’s, the tower is illuminated in a variety of colors so that it is recommended as a photography spot. It doesn’t just fulfill a role as a television broadcast tower, but it is also a commercial facility where you can enjoy shopping and dining. Connected to the underground shopping arcade Aurora Town is Telechika Gourmet Court where dining establishments such as ramen shops and other restaurants are located including one shop which sells crepes shaped like the mascot character for TV Tokyo, Terebi To-san (TV Dad). The 1st floor is where the entrance is so you will see the official souvenir shop for TV Tower and also a Terebi To-san store. There is also the Yuki Jirushi (Snow Brand) Parlor where you can buy items such as ice cream and Hokkaido souvenirs. At the 3rd-floor Sky Lounge, there are general shops and restaurants. If wanting to go to the observation deck, the reception desk is also on the 3rd floor.

The observation deck to enjoy the superb night view

The elevator takes just 60 seconds from the 3rd-floor Sky Lounge to reach the observation deck at the 90.38-meter mark. This is a wonderful spot to get a panoramic view of the streets of Sapporo and has been deemed as one of the New Top Three Nightscapes of Japan alongside Kobe and Nagasaki. Although it can be enjoyed during the other seasons, it is especially in winter that you can enjoy the beautiful sights from above which include the grand snow scenery, the Sapporo Snow Festival, the White Illumination and the Yosakoi Soran Festival.
