Visit the venerable shop Kakukyuu which has been in operation since the 17th century and see the factory for traditional Hatcho miso. Following the tour of the facility, have lunch at Okazaki Kakukyuu Hatchomura or Kyuuemon. Kakukyuu Hatchomura is a food court with a casual atmosphere where you can enjoy miso cuisine involving dishes such as ramen and curry. At Kyuuemon, you can have traditional Aichi dishes including miso udon soup.
This is the castle where Ieyasu Tokugawa, the first shogun of the Edo shogunate who unified the nation, was born. While visiting the castle museum, climb up the castle tower to the highest floor from where you can leisurely view the city of Okazaki below you.
Stroll through the park after touring the castle. There are many highlights such as historic sites related to Ieyasu Tokuagawa and a museum. A teahouse is also located within the park so that you can take a break.
