Sanja Matsuri is great. So many portable shrines, so many outdoor drinking establishments, so much noise. The already vibrant area of Asakusa comes alive during the festival. Yakuza come out showing off their tattoos on the only day of the year that it isn't taboo, and people have a great time cheering, chanting, and celebrating. The whole area takes part, and the festival is one of the most energetic in the whole of Tokyo.
