It's some work to get up to this castle, but I didn't regret it at all.
Marugame castle is the smallest of the 12 remained castles in Japan. You don't need much time to explore it and its history. When you go outside again you have a breath-taking view over Marugame.
Besides I saw the most beautiful cherry blossoms here in April 2014, since the whole castle is surrounded by cherry blossom tress.
