On a small and lush green island on Toba Bay, there are a memorial hall dedicated to founder Kōkichi Mikimoto and a museum displaying pearl handicrafts. In addition, there is a performance of the old-fashioned harvesting of Akoya pearl oysters by female divers or ama.
