The 800-year-old Hosen-in is located in Ohara. The garden viewed from the reception hall is bordered with pillars and the picture-like beauty has contributed to the garden being called “gakubuchi teien” (picture-frame garden). Hosen-in is a healing temple where you can experience nature with all 5 senses through things such as the view of the garden while having matcha tea, the 700-year-old Japanese white pines, and the sounds of the suikinkutsu jar.
