Half Day Morning Plan in Kanazawa

Take a stroll through Higashi Chaya which is known for its townscape retaining the grace of the Edo Era. In addition to the old miso stores, rice shops, and teahouses serving wagashi confections, you can also visit places dealing in the traditional folkcraft of Kanazawa such as gold leaf and the kaga yuzen art of dyeing fabrics. Board the Loop Bus heading onto the Right Loop (RL) for Kenroku-en and Kanazawa Castle Park and get off at the stop for Kenroku-en/Kanazawa Castle.

Visit Kenroku-en, one of the Three Great Gardens of Japan and stroll through the garden of a feudal lord which took years to complete. Afterwards, head over to Kanazawa Castle Park. The grounds are so big that you will want to pick and choose your highlights when moving about. Since there are many restaurants around Kenroku-en, lunch is convenient.
