Tateyama Castle was once controlled by the military Satomi clan for 170 years starting from the middle of the 15th century. The current state of the castle consists of the castle tower which was reconstructed in 1982. From the tower, you can get a panoramic view of the ocean and city. The entire area is a park which has been created to provide a resting place for local citizens.

Tateyama Castle 9am～4:45pm Closed： Mondays However, if the Monday is a national holiday or a substitute holiday, then it will be open with the following Tuesday being closed. The Monday before a holiday Tuesday will also be open with the following Wednesday being closed.
