You can experience the Nebuta Festival, one of Japan’s prominent festivals which is held every August. If you have time, drop by the nearby A-FACTORY where you can buy specialties and souvenirs of Aomori.
Tour through the wide temple grounds with Japan’s largest seated Buddha statue. Take the 5:16pm to head back to Aomori Station. Between November and March, the temple is closed at 4:30pm. For that reason, either taking a taxi after the tour of Warasse to quickly head over to Seiryu-ji Temple (20 min.) or visiting the Munakata Shiko Memorial Museum of Art or the Aomori Museum of Art is recommended instead. A shuttle bus or a city bus can be used to reach either museum.
