Shinjuku Golden Gai (Golden Street)

I agree with all comments above
I like the town. It is atmospheric and still lingering the 60' era of Tokyo . However, as some said, it might be a bit difficult to find a good bar for tourists . We need to avoid the traps. If you could find a nice bar, the town will be comfortable place. Small advice for tourists, photos are not permitted in Golden Gai, generally. You can be asked for a charge if they found it. I hope you enjoy the town safely since the town is attractive enough!

One of the best places to drink in Tokyo
I love Golden Gai. I have fond memories of drinking alone and speaking to Japanese salarymen in broken Japanese whilst they spoke to me in broken English. Sharing the nightlife, enjoying drinking together, and exchanging views on different Culture. Small bars with only a few seats (some have no seats at all), great snack food to eat as you hop from one bar in search of the next available free seat, and an atmosphere like no other.
