Fares start at 20,420 yen for the Nozomi and will only take you about 5 hours to get to Shin-Yamaguchi Station. From Shin-Yamaguchi Station you can take the JR Yamaguchi line into central Yamaguchi (the price for this ride is included in your Shinkansen ticket). This last leg of your trip will take you 20 minutes.

However, although the actual flight duration is only 100 minutes, the actual time spent in transport to and from the airports make it so that the total duration for Tokyo to Yamaguchi will be around 4.5 hours. Base pricing for regular oneway flight tickets is 41,280 yen, but you can easily find discounted tickets for much cheaper.From Yamaguchi-Ube Airport to central Yamaguchi, we recommend you take the Yamaguchi-Ube Airport Highway Bus. The bus takes about an hour to reach central Yamaguchi and costs 1,540 yen. Alternatively you could take a set-fare taxi (approx. 50 mins, 2500 yen per person). Another option will be for you to take the shinkansen. The bullet train service may cost you less and you won’t see much of a difference in travel time either.
