A popular down-home dish in which tempura is placed on a bowl of rice
Shrimp, vegetables, fish and other ingredients are deep fried in batter as tempura and then placed on rice before a special sauce is poured onto the dish. Generally, it is known as a rice dish served in soba restaurants, but there are also shops specializing in tendon along with high-class tempura restaurants which serve tendon during lunch, and even high-end tendon restaurants.
