Sasa Dango (Bamboo Leaf Dumplings)

These very fragrant yomogi (mugwort) dumplings with azuki bean paste are wrapped and steamed in bamboo leaves to create a traditional sweet. They are known as the quintessential Niigata souvenir, and can be purchased easily everywhere at places such as souvenir shops and stores in train stations.
