Hoki-ji Temple

An ancient temple which includes Japan’s oldest three-storey pagoda, both of which have been designated as World Heritage sites

Hoki-ji Temple was built in the year 708 and is famous for having the country’s oldest surviving three-storey pagoda (National Treasure). It is a popular site for the pagoda rising above a peaceful countryside landscape and its overall calm refinement.
