Oyaki was born from the local cuisine of flour-based dishes in Nagano Prefecture which is unsuited for rice production. The buns have a simple taste with vegetables or sweet bean paste stuffed into dough that is made from flour and soba flour. They are light so they are also ideal as souvenirs.
