Sasa Kamaboko

A very flavorful kamaboko (fish cake) only found in Sendai which has been blessed with many fishing grounds

A special product created to preserve the flounder caught in great numbers offshore. The white flesh of the fish is mashed into a paste and molded into the shape of bamboo leaves (sasa) before being carefully grilled. With its firm texture, it can be lightly toasted to be deliciously eaten.
