Manyo Park

A historic natural park with flowing waterfalls and vegetation from the Manyo Era

View Gallery
Manyo Park was created to be a symbol of Yugawara hot springs as Yugawara was mentioned in the “Man’yōshū”, a famous book of poetry from the 8th century. It has been selected as one of The 100 Best Historical Parks in Japan. Inside the park, there are rivers and waterfalls along with plants that come from the Manyo (Nara) Era. You can enjoy a walk there while admiring the various historic sites. At the Manyotei, a thatch-roofed teahouse resembling an ancient building from that era, you can relax while sampling matcha tea and Japanese sweets.
