From a pit dwelling to a Nambu Magari house, this is an open-air museum with examples of old Iwate architecture

Beginning from the Jomon Era which existed in the Kitakami River Valley, historical buildings from the old times such as the Edo and Taisho Eras have been moved and reconstructed on the natural hills. The transitions in the lifestyles on the Kitakami are traced from the houses.
