About

Gensuke, the manservant of Gengoemon Kataoka, one of the 47 Ronin of Ako who have been greatly celebrated in the fictionalized “Chushingura” through kabuki performances and joruri narrative music, memorialized the 47 warriors by building statues in their honor over a period of 20 years along a giant rock wall. These statues located by this wall deep in the mountains are enveloped in a shroud of mystery.
