This is a simple rice cake that made its way into the homes with a long history including the famous Ouchi-juku. The tochi seeds are carefully boiled to be ridden of their harshness and steamed together with mochi rice. With the bittersweet flavor of the tochi seeds, the rice cake has that taste of nature.
