Exchanging money in Kyoto

Hello. We’ll be arriving at Kansai International airport next week. I'd like to know where I’ll be able to exchange my money into Japanese yen, as I know that a lot of places in Japan don't take credit cards. Can anyone provide me with some information?

Thank you.

Currency exchange services for getting Japanese yen are available at Kansai International airport. Large banks, post offices and some of the large hotels also provide currency exchange services though the currency available is limited.

You’ll want to keep in mind that banks and post offices will be closed after 3pm on weekdays, and also weekends and national holidays are closed. You can also use the Seven-Eleven ATMs to draw out cash with foreign cards.

Foreign Exchange:

Sumitomo Mitsui Bank Money Exchange Corner

All major cash currencies & 7 kinds of travelers checks; 11:00-18:30; Closed Sat., Sun., holidays; On the southeast corner of Shijo Kawaramachi intersection outside Kawaramachi station.

Mitsubishi Tokyo UFJ Bank Money Exchange Center

Major cash currencies & 5 travelers checks; 9:00-16:00; Closed Sat., Sun., holidays; On the southeast corner of Shijo Karasuma intersection, outside Karasuma station.

i guess the easiest option is the airport. Thank you!
