Activities in Kusatsu?

Hi guys I'm going to Kusatsu in a short while with my boyfriend. Who know what activities are there to do in Kusatsu?

Hello Deborah!

Kusatsu is such a cute little town famous for its many onsen (hot springs). Here is what there is to do among other things:

The Town
In the town you can find the Yubatake (湯畑 "hot water field"), the symbol of Kusatsu. It is one of the main sources of hot spring water in the town and wonderful to see at night time. Closeby you can find many little restaurants and have nice leisurely stroll to cool off after your hot onsen bath.

Bath Houses
Among the many bath houses and ryokan the most famous ones are the Otakinoyu bath house with its special Awayesu baths and the Gozanoyu a gorgeous wooden building with its two traditional bath right next to the Yubatake hot water source. A smaller bath house that offers a more unique experience is Jikanyu where customers take a short, very hot bath for 3 minutes only to open the pores and cleanse your body thoroughly.

Sainokawara Park
Close to the village lies Sainokawara Park, a perfect opportunity to enjoy nature and piece. What you can also find in Sainokawara Park are the outside public pools, the Sai no kawara Rotenburo. Here you can relax while being surrounded by beautiful greenery.

Onsen Museum
If you're up for learning about Kusatsu and onsen as well and waiting for your bus to arrive to bring you back home, you might want to pay a visit to the Onsen Museum conveniently located on the 3rd floor of of the bus terminal. Tickets are 200 yen per adult and 100 yen per child, open from 9:00 to 16:00.

Enjoy your stay!
