The Hirafuku Memorial Art Museum was built in honor of Kakunodate artists Hyakusai Hirafuku and his father Suisan Hirafuku who were celebrated in the world of Japanese painting. Located in a corner of a samurai residence, works by the Hirafukus are on permanent display within the museum.
