A famous cuisine from Minami-Chita which boasts one of Japan’s foremost catches of fugu or globefish

The natural tiger globefish of Minami-Chita caught off the coast of the Atsumi Peninsula makes the highest catch in the country. Fishing season begins from October so that it can be eaten until around March. There are many ways to eat fugu including as sashimi, hot pot and deep-fried.
